Review: The Istfy's Curse by Ptyx

Title:
Author: [info]ptyx
Web Site: Boa Constrictor
Characters: Harry Potter, Severus Snape
Genres: Angst, mild BDSM, Bond fic, Slash (m/m pairing)
Warnings: mild BDSM, disturbing scenes
Summary: Voldemort has found an Egyptian curse to transform Harry Potter into his sexual slave. Snape is assigned a difficult mission.
Pairings: HP/SS
Complete: Yes

This is the first story I read of this wonderful author and the story that, more than others, rest in my heart. So, after a long time, I finally write my review on it.
The Istfy's Curs is a long fiction in 2 parts (with many chapters) and under the great characterization of Severus Snape and Harry Potter, plus a very manipulative Headmaster, there are also an accurate study of the ritual of ancient Egypt (the documentation are linked also in the prologue of the story). The atmospheres are really intense and I like very much the way the characters interact with each other. Feelings of hate, embarrassment and lust in the first part was combined with jealousy, love and kinkiness in the second. The great goal of this fiction aren't the battle against Voldemort, this is only the idea to make things happen, but the interactions between Snape, cold and controlling, and Harry, pure and sincere. Thanks to the Istfy'c Curs, however, both will be something more alone and together. I love very much the sensual scenes of sex that, through the words, make me enter in the story like I really was there.
In the same universe Ptyx wrote also Shibari, an enjoyable and humorous PWP ficlet that can be read as a stand-alone with a pinch of light BDSM. I would suggest to read all her SS/HP fictions because I think that she has a great talent to describe Snape and an amazing fantasy, in her works you'll find tasty recipe, exotic flavor and the fragrance of her beautiful country.

Service Message 1: I'm drawing a sketch inspired from one of her work.
Service Message 2: I send the Snarry Olympics Art, now start the terrible wait ^.^ !

Review: The Semblance of Peace by Maeglin Yedi

Title:
Author: [info]maeglinyedi
Web Site: Lapsus Calumni
Characters: Harry Potter, Severus Snape, Lord Voldemort, Tom Riddle
Genres: Humor, Angst, First time, Slash (m/m pairing)
Warnings: Dubious consent, Coercion/Manipulation, Character Death
Summary: Voldemort is finally dead, or so the wizarding world believes. Unfortunately, Harry knows better
Pairings: HP/LV, HP/TR, HP/LV/SS
Complete: Yes

I know Maeglin Yedi as a wonderful author capable to excite the reader and to write beautiful romance/sensual pieces, but this time she hit me so hard that I rest the night in my bed with her word in my mind.
The Semblance of Peace is a 4 chapters fiction, with a very interesting and strong characterization of Tom Riddle, that I have never loved him so much like in this story. The adventure begins when everything should be ended: the definitive destruction of Voldemort. And immediately the playing cards are disarranged and they scatter for creating a fascinating version of  Harry, ready to live the normalcy but captured again in a new strange mission: free his own body from the uneasy and inopportune presence of his old enemy.
Day after day, within many months, with the strong and dark presence of Severus Snape, slowly all will change perspective and while the characters evolve so do their emotions, in crescendo. And at the end I taste sweetness, warm and bitterness. And I simply love them all.
Maybe, the obstacle of the language won't have allowed me to express at best what I have feel reading this story but I felt the need to analyze it to understand myself and now I go to reread it.
